A workshop to upskill statisticians, in collaboration with the Asian Basketball Federation, is being held in Jeddah.

The Saudi Basketball Federation, in collaboration with the Asian Basketball Federation, held a workshop to develop statisticians from July 1st to 3rd at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Jeddah.
 
The course aims to enhance the skills of sports statisticians and improve their readiness for upcoming events, most notably the Asia Cup, by training them on the latest developments in sports statistics and updates to approved software.
 
The course is presented by Mr. Haroution Dekermenjian, Head of Statistics at the Asian Basketball Federation, with the participation of a specialized team from the Statistics Committee of the Saudi Basketball Federation. The course will include theoretical lectures and practical workshops in accordance with the latest international standards.
 
Sixteen statisticians are participating in the course, receiving intensive training focusing on the following areas:
• Understanding the latest developments in statistical work in basketball.
• Reviewing new updates in the approved statistical software.
• Assessing the readiness of statisticians in preparation for the Asia Cup.
 
The head of the Statistics Committee, Mr. Fathi Al-Qassab, confirmed that this course is part of the Federation’s ongoing efforts to qualify national personnel and raise the level of professionalism in the technical aspects supporting the game.
