Jeddah to host the Asian Basketball Federation’s table officials development program.

The Saudi Arabian Basketball Federation, in collaboration with the Asian Basketball Federation, is proud to announce the hosting of the Asian Table Officials Development Course. This training course for basketball table officials will tip off from July 1st to 3rd at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Jeddah. The course aims to sharpen the skills of referees and technicians, and elevate the quality of performance in both local and continental competitions.
The course will be led by Mr. Walid Marcel Abi Rached, Head of the Referees Committee at the Asian Basketball Federation, with the participation of a technical and administrative team from the main Referees Committee of the Saudi Federation. It will include theoretical lectures and practical applications based on the latest international standards.
Twenty-five referees and table officials will participate in the course, receiving intensive training that includes:
•⁠ ⁠Updates to basketball rules specific to table officials.
•⁠ ⁠Handling modern technologies in match management.
•⁠ ⁠Improving coordination between the refereeing crew and the technical staff.
•⁠ ⁠Practical scenarios to enhance speed and accuracy in decision-making.
The Head of the Referees Committee, Dr. Ibrahim Al-Sheikhi, emphasized that this course is part of the plan to develop referees and support national talent, in line with the significant progress witnessed by Saudi basketball, and to prepare them for upcoming tournaments.
