The players of our national first basketball team joined the first preparatory camp yesterday, Wednesday, February 5th, in Jeddah, in preparation for facing the Jordanian and Palestinian national teams in the third and final window of the Asian Basketball Cup qualifiers, which will be held next August in Jeddah.

The Green team’s players, along with the technical and administrative staff, have settled into the internal camp, which will continue until February 12th. Then, our team will depart for an external camp in Kuwait to play two friendly matches with the Kuwaiti national team on February 15th and 18th before heading to Jordan. Our national team will play against the Jordanian national team in Amman on Friday, February 21st, and then return to Jeddah to finish the qualifying campaign on Monday, February 24th, by meeting the Palestinian national team in the covered hall at King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah.

The national team list includes the following players:

Ayman Bilal, Marzouq Al-Mowallad, Mohammed Al-Suwailem, Mohammed Al-Saqr, Khaled Abduljabbar, Manaf Al-Salem, Abdulmalik Ashour, Humam Hussein, Ali Al-Shubaili, Thamer Mohammed, Abdulaziz Al-Alawi, Mohammed Hamza, Mohammed Al-Khater, Hazem Al-Johar, Saad Al-Subaie, Mohammed Al-Marwani, Fahd Bilal, Muthanna Al-Marwani, Mohammed Qadi, Osama Al-Barqawi.

The Al-Ittihad team players will join the training camp and delegation after the conclusion of their second playoff match for the semi-finals of the West Asia Super League (WASL).

Saudi Al-Khaldi is supervising the Saudi national team and delegation, assisted by administrator Bandar Al-Nasser, with technical supervision from Captain Ricard Casas and his assistants Krikor Krikorian and Jordi Meli, physical trainer Elie Maroun, and physical therapy specialist Mohammed Ayman Najjari.

It’s worth mentioning that our national team enters the third and final window ranked second behind the Jordanian team, having already secured qualification for the Asian Cup regardless of hosting considerations, following their recent two victories in the second window against the Iraqi and Palestinian teams in Jeddah..
