Our national basketball team has concluded its matches in the Asian Qualifiers for the FIBA Asia Cup, which will be hosted by Saudi Arabia in Jeddah next August. Our national team qualified by winning four out of six matches in the group that included Jordan, Palestine, and Iraq. Our team finished second in the group behind the Jordanian team, which topped the standings with six wins and no losses, followed by the Iraqi team in third place, and finally, the Palestinian team in fourth place.

Our national team was able to win the final match against the Palestinian team at the King Abdullah Sports City indoor arena in Jeddah today, Monday, February 24, with a score of 93-71. The Green Falcons put on an outstanding performance, with all players excelling. Mohammed Ali Abdulrahman was the top scorer with (23) points, followed by Mohammed Al-Suwailem with (21) points, and Marzouq Al-Mawlid with (18) points. The national team players expressed their happiness at qualifying for the Asian Cup without considering hosting privileges and shared the joy of qualifying with the Green Falcons fans, along with the technical and administrative staff.

The meeting was attended by numerous sports figures, including former FIBA President Hamane Niang and a large number of veteran national players..
